ateolfwell, it was certainly a "colorful" show...pretty much everything went wrong with our junk...well, not quite everything, but quite a staggering bit of it...uh, Laser Awesome played first and they were good...i bought a bunch of their stuff (well, they have one album and then a bunch of side projects that were all really cheap: priced $1-3...as in non-fixed prices...so i just piled 'em on and got 'em a...)

too bad those guys were not into us AT ALL...so the set that the other band did not enjoy consisted of:

okay...first off, we were gonna use the drum machine on "Taken" and "The Longest Day of the Year" (which we obviously opted not to play) but then the battery was dying even though it worked just fine the last time i'd turned it on...well, so after a bit we decided to have Brad play the drums and just leave the synth out (speaking of things messing up, remember? Wasp broke so we were using the Moog Liberation which hasn't really been used in years and is a little rusty anyway...well, i guess we didn't end up needing to play it...but i played it with my foot a little bit...) i'd broken a bass string and not having replacement bass strings we just brought along my other bass...which sounds different...i guess not the worst thing, but it's more trebly, thin, and has less sustain...so, whatever...then i had my new expensive earplugs that i wanted to test out...through all the initial setting up confusion i forgot to put them in til halfway through (after we'd already played the louder stuff...) which was probably a bad idea 'cuz suddnely things sounded a little different than i'd gotten used to, and really at those volumes i didn't need 'em anyway...that's not a major thing, but it goes along with the theme...also going along with the theme, i had my loop running for "Taken" but didn't realize i'd had my mute pedal on...so none of that stuff came through...oh well oh well...oh yeah, and of course as i'd mentioned before to start it all off we were playing without Josh so we're at a disadvantage even before we start...well, there ya go...
in other junk, when i got back to work after my vacation my supervisor came up to me and said there was a problem and traffic didn't have a record of my requesting off...so i brought my approval form in yesterday and gave it to him...then he came back and i'd written the wrong fucking month down i wrote an "08" where an "06" should have been! nice! but apparently it was straightened out and they switched it for me...but jeez that was dumb...and through that time *i* was bitching about what idiots traffic were for losing my shit...anyway...
