friday night i went with Jacques, Amber, and Justin and we went out to this thai place in bartlett...it was pretty fuckin' badass...i had this dish that came in a big, carved-out pineapple shell and it was one of the best fucking things i've ever eaten...and it looked pretty too! Amber even had to take three pictures on her camera phone! then after that Justin left and the rest of us went to the Full Moon Club to see Josh's other band play...the first band was called The Keep...they sucked...their second song was a butchering of a good Gang of Four song...i knew something was wrong when they said they were going to be doing "a 70s song" and that it was "by one of their favorite punk bands" and to top it off they called the song "Made for Great Men" (anyone who actually has Entertainment! knows the song is called "Not Great Men"...) they were pretty much bland college rock with a little splash of funk...pretty lame...but then the next band reached even lower depths of crapitude...they were called Chess Club...they sounded a bit mid-to-late 90s "alternative" meets adult contemporary...very much like Live (though not as cock and not as funny...) a bit like Marcys Playground...yeah, they probably thought of themselves as "indie" too...it was embarassing...the best part though was this one song where they keyboard player was doing this cheesy piano thing (glissandos included!) that sounded like "Crocodile Rock" or the "rock and roll" preset on a Casio or Fisher Price's My First Rock and Roll Song...it was SOOOO fucking cheesy we just couldn't believe a serious band was up on stage playing that...Jacques and i couldn't stop laughing and we "almost" peed our pants...then Josh's band (Penny Dreadfuls) played...also Jason and Amanda showed up but they missed the first band...they just weren't cool enough! uh...after taking pictures of my food Amber got on a picture-takin' roll and took the first Family Ghost band pictures with the band in its current line up on her camera phone...so it was all fun and shit...oh yeah, and my new shower curtain arrived in the mail!!! it's the map of New York's metro/subway system...it's fucking cool!!! the only cool shower curtain i was able to come across at all! but it made up for the lameness of every other shower curtain ever...

then yesterday it was The Family Ghost practice...our first in the "new" practice room...it was pretty swell...we did "The Longest Day of the Year" for the first time in a long time...we cut it short too...which pretty much just amounted to me dropping my glockenspiel solo...it was sad but everyone wanted the song shorter and i still have my glockenspiel parts when the singing is going on...it wasn't too long a practice before Josh had to work but then the other three of us stuck around and worked on "The Yellow Light" so now that song has a drum part too...so that's nice...after that i went to Jacques and Amber's and we went to the mall...at the videogame store i got a few GBA games that had reduced prices!: Ice Climber and Bomberman...here's to the classic NES series! hoorah! though i almost left my games at the Bubble Tea place...that would have sucked...a little bit later Jason and Amanda came over to the apartment of Jacques and Amber...we ate at Huey's...i had nachos that gave me some amazing farts..and they smelled real bad...back to the apartment we watched House of the Dead...i've seen bad movies before like everyone else, but this just blew away every other bad movie ever (with the exception of maybe Batman and Robin) i mean, it's jaw-dropping bad, so it was a wonderful experience...also, Jacques gave me a The New Year poster (a promo poster for The End Is Near), he got a bunch as he signed up to be in Touch & Go's grassroots-street-promotion team...posters are cool...i also got this cd in the mail: Joan of Arc: Joan of Arc, Dick Cheney, Mark Twain. . .

now it's sunday, i slept a lot...
