so i get to DC...Arlington, actually...Jamie took me to this japanese place and i had the first sushi i've ever met that i did not like...it was sea urchin...NEVER eat sea urchin...it's like this paste and it's absolutely disgusting...it's very rare that i dislike a food...i can eat most things, but this...[shudder] it hurts to even think about it...then we went to the show...my 5th and final show for the week...i'd say it was the 3rd best...yea...i was rocked...this time i got some more cds at the merch table...and this old poster/program set...i actually have the poster (and don't really like it) i got it off ebay when i first started doing it...but i really wanted the program...it was from last year's japan tour...and i finally got some ear plugs...Erase Errata had an interesting surprise...they said something about being about to play Ladyfest and were gonna give up part of their time that night to another band to play...so they played most of their set and walked offstage a little early...then they came back w/ these rat-ear type hats on (self-made) and said they were the Anxious Rats...Kim Gordon was w/ them...the singer was all talking in a fake deep voice and said something about being a grrrlpunk band...then they proceeded to play a few grrrlpunk numbers...it was pretty funny...they even played the same song twice...oh yea, and on the way, Jamie gave me a brief Arlington, VA tour...i saw the house where Ian McKay lives, which happens to still be the Dischord house of the early 80s...also, i left her a present...like some toothpaste...i also left Sheree a present at her house when i left...that being my shampoo...i'm so generous w/ toiletries...i began my journey back home friday morning...there was a wreck on I-85 so i had to take some detour around it...it was nice of them to put a sign up telling us which exit to take off onto another interstate but not give detour directions as to how to get around back in the same direction we were trying to go...but i stopped at a gas station and got directions...but it set me back a good bit...also, coming back i ate at some place in rural Virginia and at the counter there was a basket of audio tapes from some local church i guess...they were of sermons...and they were free...i took 3...maybe you're only supposed to take one...but the more comedy = the better...i called Justin on my way back but couldn't get ahold of him...i finally made it back before midnight...over half a day of driving, aye! and i guess i'll do another post w/ my having-returned stuff...woo...hoo...
