Movie and Plastic Spoons
May. 11th, 2025 10:55 amWe had a practice for The Terminator live score. Not a lot of people were able to make it this time but we did have one in each group so that was good at least! It was the first time we started going along to the movie. Dipping our toes in it. And it was the first time I brought any of my own synth gear. I brought the main synths (but left a couple at home). I don't really have any of my parts ready yet...at all! I got so behind working on editing the movie audio and I've got some serious catching up to do. Hopefully that will be this week. So worked on the pain in the ass of setting all this crap up. Also nerve-wracking to start playing along with the movie as things might seem pretty tight. But it went relatively well, for dipping our toes in it! Definitely have a lot more work to do on it. But I guess we're progressing!
Later after I got home, Mary Beth and I went on a date. We walked over to Golden India. We had some weird fuckin' service. It wasn't just the slowness, that's pretty expected and fine. But we didn't get the drinks we ordered, also relatively not a big deal. When we got our appetizer we didn't have any plates yet (I noticed they were slow getting plates to other tables, busy, whatever that's fine). But then when we got our meals, we still didn't have silverware. Mary Beth asked for some and he came back with plastic spoons and stuff. Did they run out? Looking around, other tables had real silverware and I kept looking at the people who arrived after us and they eventually got real silverware too. We were the only table with plastic spoons. So that, while not a big thing in the grand scheme of the universe and all that, was just pretty fucking weird. We walked back home and it was starting to rain just a little bit, just sprinkling but we still took a leisurely walk around back home and complained about all that. I guess that's it for now!
