Graduation
May. 10th, 2025 10:49 amI got a message from my dad early in the morning about having to pick up tickets to Jason's graduation by a certain time in the middle of the afternoon. I knew Jason had a graduation coming up and that I was invited (they had only four tickets) but I was never told when. My sister had sent some kind of screenshot with conflicting information and said she would confirm the date and get back to me. But I hadn't put it on the calendar since I didn't have the date so I forgot about it and didn't know it would be then! So I have to rush out there in the afternoon to pick up the ticket before they left since they had to take Jason a few hours earlier. Come back with just enough time to eat dinner and get dressed and then go out to the graduation at fuckin' Bellevue (Baptist church, the largest megachurch in the Memphis area...with the gross-ass giant crosses looming over the fucking interstate...and really, when is someone going to do something about this goddamn public-school-church infestation bullshit...not anytime soon and I guess sure as fuck not in suburban Tennessee). Anyway, the ceremony was fine. I counted 476 graduates (no I didn't count-count them all, just one column in the program and estimated from there). It took a long time but not nearly as long as I was expecting or fearing. Wasn't sure I'd get to see Jason afterwards but I did for a second 'cuz he had to get his shoes out of my dad's car. Okay, then back home. End to a hectic day!
