Yesterday "morning" (okay, lunchtime, but that feels like morning as far as getting up on the weekend for us) we thought we'd go to Barksdale but then there was a bit of a line outside. We weren't sure what to do instead, but then decided on The Cupboard which neither of us had ever been to before in spite of its just being right there for forever. I guess in the morning before we left, I prepared the score and example files for the scrap metal orchestra's cover of the original theme from The Terminator (with a couple of different options for how to count its weird damn time signature). Then in the afternoon we went to Opera Memphis where they had a nice little lecture on the history of opera (things like this are the ones I like the most from their more informal monthly series). We stopped by TFM on the way home (convenient as it's like the ONE thing on the way home from the very nearby Opera Memphis headquarters!) and picked up a couple things, including some sushi for dinner. Then in the evening we went on a walk around the neighborhood. Later at night I was just goofing around and started making up and singing a dumb jingle for The Cupboard and it made Mary Beth laugh far more than I'd heard her laugh in a while. And I'm not even sure why! I think it was my declarative first line "Cupboard! It's The Cupboard!" Okay, that's what I've got for now.
