House

Mary Beth and I went over to my parents' (jeez, should I stop calling it that now? can I stop calling it that?) house and we picked up some food along the way and brought it over. We just sat with my dad and talked and/or sat there a while. The boys were both there but mostly just stayed doing stuff in their room. Christina was asleep but woke up after a while. When she first got up she was very distraught and was talking about feeling responsible or guilty for mom's death because she was with her taking care of her in the early morning when it happened and she said something about touching her neck while doing things to make her comfortable and then mom gasped a lot or something like that and then she died. I tried to comfort her as best I could and let her know that it was unequivocally not her fault. After a bit she at least seemed to feel better. There was some levity later on, because Stella was sitting on my lap (she had taken turns for a while on mine and Mary Beth's putting our legs to sleep) and she totally farted on me. She did it earlier too but I wasn't one hundred percent sure that's what the smell was so I let it pass. But this time she totally lifted up her butt to the side. I saw it and smelled it in tandem so I knew what it was. I covered my nose with my shirt and my dad asked what I was doing. When I told him Stella had farted on me, he and my sister both erupted into a whole lot of laughter. We figured it was her way of telling us she needed to go out so Mary Beth and I took her on a walk around the block to do her business. Anyway, there you have it. I didn't mention it before, but on Friday I made another dumb list of the books I read in an earlier year, this time 2007. So there's that boring tidbit.
