The eclipse was yesterday! I made some time in the afternoon to come out to the back deck and watch it. We got 97.6% of totality, which I guess falls under the close-but-no-cigar category. Still it was really damn cool. I guess now I have a couple decades to plan a trip to see a full one. I hung out watching with Mary Beth and even Peanut came and joined us! (Thankfully the worm hanging off her butt left after a little bit.) She got very cuddly (post-worm) and even made biscuits on my lap, to which Mary Beth noted that it was the first time she'd seen Peanut making biscuits. So that's special! Got to see the camera obscura effect of the crescent shape in the shadows of the leaves on the trees towards the peak and it got a bit dim. We had some neighbors out back there watching as well. We got lucky weather-wize 'cuz it was raining earlier and later. In the beginning, when the moon was just starting to cross the sun's path, it was a bit cloudy, but for the most part, when the clouds weren't too thick, you could still clearly see the shape of the sun through the glasses. But then it was pretty clear anyway when it was all at the maximum and stuff. Later we did our Superlo grocery run. At night I finished working on the promo video for the show that's happening in one week (Water Is the Sun at Black Lodge)! I think that's about it for now. Here's that video if you wanna see. It's hard for me to tell if it even looks any good at this point!
