Three or Four Things

I was on the phone with my mom and she was talking about wanting to see the eclipse and not having glasses and since ours came in a pack of five, I offered to take over the extras to them (well, after Mary Beth prodded me with the idea!). So I went and brought over some of those eclipse glasses (just in time 'cuz that's all happening today). After that I finished reading Miss MacIntosh, My Darling Volume One by Marguerite Young. So far it's okay though I'm reserving full judgement until the whole thing is over, but even one half of it is quite the beast to get through! Again, I won't say definitively until I'm finished, but at this point in it I feel it could be a very good book if it was about one-quarter its length. There's some really incredible writing in it, but it's very repetitive. It would still be very repetitive at one-quarter its length. There have been stretches of it where I've gotten into it more, so maybe things will come together more again. And often I can enjoy use of repetition, but in this case I'm not sure it was necessary to the extent where it was padded out into one of the longest books ever. But again, I'm waiting to see how I feel at the end of it! Right now I'm taking a break with another book in between the two halves, but it's a very short book so it will be a very short break then back to take on the rest! Mary Beth and I finished the rest of the nachos while watching Rocko's Modern Life at night. And much of the day I've been working on another video for that show at Black Lodge a week from tomorrow. I've put a lot into it and now it feels like it's almost done. But still have a little bit more to go to finish it. It'll probably be the last time I'll do a promotional video like this as the effort-to-reward ratio is pretty abysmal. But it's fun to do a few times. And for those couple shows I really wanted to at least give it a try.
