First Show
Aug. 15th, 2021 10:44 amThe main thing yesterday was going to my first covid-era show (or any sort of public event at all). It was outside at the Cooper Young gazebo (I mentioned previously how happy I was that it was moved from a much more cramped bar to the outdoors venue). It was Tatsuya Nakatani who I'd seen a few times before and he's always been incredible. I got to the area a little early and did some browsing. I stopped in Goner and picked up a couple cds: Prurient: Rainbow Mirror and v/a: Thisoriented. Then popped over to Burke's. Ran into Kole as they were leaving the store (on the way to the show just outside). I picked up a few used books: A Month in the Country by J. L. Carr, Blow-Up and Other Stories by Julio Cortázar, and The Book of Ebenezer le Page by G. B. Edwards. Anyway, then I went over to the show. They were still setting up. Hung out with Kole a bit just talkin'. The show was great as always. The weather was just perfect for a nice nighttime show. I picked up Tatsuya Nakatani's newer cd: Monochrome. Stuck around afterwards talking to Kole a bit more. Then went home. It was a good show! Also I should add that a little before the show, earlier in the day, I was able to try Pepsi Mango and it was good.
