ateolf: (Robert points the bone at you)
I finally cancelled my Planet Fitness membership last night. It's geared towards trapping lazy people 'cuz you have to go up there and fill out a form in person. Haven't been since before Memphis Concrète when I was so caught up in planning that I didn't have time. And now that I have a bike, that's gonna be the outlet for exercise. Then I hooked up and broke in the blu ray player! The only blu rays I've had to test it out are the Criterions I'd gotten when they were doing everything dual disc. So I popped in The Long Day Closes (so good!) and rewatched a bonus feature and then rewatched the best bit of the movie, that overhead tracking sequence towards the end that's just one of the best scenes captured on film ("film" in the general sense regardless of media format). Then there was a firewall change in production that I was helping out with testing a piece. Very little to actually do but lots of waiting around. It started at 10:30. There was verifying pre-testing and then a round one and then a round two. Mostly it went smooth up to the round two. It took a long long time to finish the change before we tested. Then after testing a couple applications had issues (eventually the whole thing was rolled back). So I'm sitting around waiting and watching the slack channel and was up til 4 am. I did get a lot of reading done (and since I'd eaten panchos dip earlier a lot of uh something else...but I guess I knew the risk...). Okay, my scrummaster was trying to tell me not to come in today but it's the fucking Diwali celebration where a whole bunch of our Indian coworkers bring in homemade Indian food and it's magical and incredible and the best day of the whole year. I had to yell at him to let him know I was coming in! I did get in a little late so I got an okay amount of sleep. Anyway there's a buffet of all this food and they had these large plates so I filled mine the fuck up. Then I'm walking back and all these people are making judging comments about how much food I had! Well, it turns out it was a whole ton of food and I was able to eat half of what I'd gotten (but I had to try some of everything!). Well, I brought the rest home for Mary Beth so she could enjoy the festival too. So yeah, since I was up all night I also went home early so I'm home now and yay! My first shipment of my Criterion blu rays arrived today. So now I'm ready to start my blu ray collection! I got: Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, David Lynch: the Art Life, Barry Lyndon, Paris, Texas, and Walkabout. Very excited about all this, yo!
