I found a thing about a job that hopefully seems very promising, kinda just the thing for me and the weird place I'm at. It's a programming thing but they put you through an eight week training program first and you don't necessarily have to have experience programming before. They just want you to be analytically minded or whatever. Well, given that I do have [incomplete] knowledge of programming and have been a math teacher and am analytically minded and all, but have many holes in my experience and knowledge, this seems perfect for me! This sounds too optimistic or hopeful or whatever. I hate sounding like the before something actually happens, because it could all just be horrible. I am tempered. Not optimistic but not pessimistic. Right in the middle. We'll see how it turns out. I applied for it and yesterday morning I saw an email about an aptitude test I had to take so I signed in and tried to take it. They have a thing where it uses the video camera to make sure it's you taking the test. Well, it kept not working right in my browser. It would work and I'd see the video and then I'd get a pop up about it. When I'd click the pop up, the option to move on to the next question disappeared from the bottom of the page too. So I couldn't move past the first question. This is a timed test too. So I quit and emailed the people about it. I got a series of emails about it this morning. The first was an automated type thing saying I didn't qualify because of my score (0/14). The next one was just someone saying something like "did you really not get any questions?" The third was a response to my message saying I could try it again. So I tried again today and this time I got a 14/14. Yeah! They weren't hard questions. A few seemed hard at first, but once you dug into 'em it wasn't bad. The twists and turns of the "what direction are you facing" type questions were a handful, not hard, just a bit to keep up with. Anyway, I felt good about it and then got an automated email saying I passed and was ready to move on to the next stage (then I checked my score and was happy to get the complete opposite of the first one). I know it wasn't hard stuff, but it's a nice confidence boost. Okay, so now I checked the next step and it seems I have a little coding project. They're sending a bunch of stuff for me to use and directions and all this stuff I guess to see how able I am to learn the stuff. So that's actually kind of exciting. Hopefully I can make it fun. Alright! We'll see how all of this goes. (Oh, and just got an email from someone about my "PERFECT score.")

Yesterday we had practice. Most of the band. Paul had gotten himself sick, but the reset of us practiced. We went through most of our set, reworked part of "Safety Corridor" 'cuz my timing was kinda sucking when I sang. Now only one practice left before the show! Exciting stuff.
