tuesday was the Cat Power show...it was pretty decent...i picked Amber up on the way from way...the show was mostly stuff i'd never heard, new i presume...she did like 3 songs off You Are Free and "Wild Is the Wind" and that's it as far as "old" material...it wasn't a bad show...it'd be cool to see her with a band but i guess that doesn't really happen outside of records nowadays...some crazy stuff went on at that show though...first of all i'd like to point out how insanely and unbelievably crowded it was...fuck! anyway, i was wearing my New Order: Movement shirt...then i see there's this girl there wearing a Movement shirt as well! and where mine had the writing in blue hers was pink...after i notice this this middle aged woman comes up and comments on my shirt, first asking where i got it then saying something about how i must have been in diapers when she first heard that record or whatever...anyway, later on in the set she leaves and slips me a small piece of paper...with her digits, of course...and a short message "you remind me of my first"...i guess life wouldn't be complete without the random creepy message every now and again...later on as i was looking the other way that New Order chick stood next to Amber and so she mentioned her shirt then grabbed me and i turned around confused and she said something like "awesome" in response to our identical shirts...that was that...i know i'm sure you were expecing some great tale of romance...sorry about that...at least the show was an early one we were out before 11! (typically shows are just starting then...) but they had to make room for the beer bust afterwards (!? beer bust and Cat Power, what a pairing, i know...) oh yeah, there was some old dude that opened and played rock'n'roll and it was lame...
