Fad Gadget: Under the Flag
the two Fall cds are the new Castle reissues that just came out in the states, and as implied by "expanded deluxe edition" have a bunch of extra stuff...Live at the Witch Trials even has two fuckin' discs!!! as bonus tracks it has a few singles (including one that was a bootleg 7" of demo recordings or something), two bbc sessions, and a live show from '78...Dragnet's only one disc but its extras are nice...a few singles and a bunch of alternate takes of stuff...so that's awesome!!! i'd been needing new copies of the albums themselves anyway...i'd just had the old Cog Sister releases, the shitty ones mastered poorly from shitty quality vinyl...i'd (slowly) been planning on getting these again with last year or so's crop of new, cleaned-up Cog Sinister reissues of the early albums...until a few months ago when i found out about the future release of these with the buttload of extras...so all's good in the land of that...however, i am a little scared of this Fad Gadget cd...it's the only one of the earlier albums that's not terribly expensive, however it's like the latter of 'em and now that i have it and am looking at the track list, i notice the three songs from The Best Of are like three of the worst/cheesiest sogns on the comp...hopefully the rest isn't too bad...i am a little worried though...i guess we'll see when i get around to listening to it...
shit, i almost forgot about this next incident!!! around 12:30-1 am last night Amanda and i went to McDonalds and this McDonalds takes credit card, right? well we order the food, wait 10 or 15 minutes in line and the fucking bitches at the window tell us THEN that the machine is down...and we don't have any cash 'cuz cash is for fags and they take credit card anyway...NOW, it would have been "nice" (i.e. the basest level of decency/not being a complete fuck-up) to have mentioned this over the speaker while we were placing the order BEFORE we would have to wait in the long line ahead...i mean, there's no need to go on about there here because it's so fucking obvious...how unheard of is someone coming to a place that takes credit card not carrying cash because they take credit cards and getting cash would be a pointless effort? NOT AT ALL! so what fucking sense would it make to make them sit in a 10 minute line and THEN see how they're paying!?!?!? and then when i fucking held out the card to them they just looked at it like it was some foreign object that had no place being handed to someone working at an establishment that supposedly accepts credit cards...after an exchange having to do with their machine being down and me not having any cash they just closed the window and walked away with the bag like it was nothing...i got a little more agitated and made them talk to me a little longer bringing up the issues i mentioned above (i.e. "why didn't you tell me that before i waited 10 minutes in line?") then i said something along the lines of "have a nice night you fucking bitch"...i need to remember to find whatever number there is to call and complain...well, i'd better move on, it's pissing me off again just thinking about it...
now back to good news...i got back a little while ago from picking up the puppies (a.k.a. the 3 L's...) from my parents' to hang out with me for the weekend...and we're all chillin' out...Lizzie's on my bed right over there...Lacey's sitting in the chair with me, behind me...and Leala's on a pillow on the floor by the stereo speaker...i guess she likes The Fall...
