Yesterday I got some mail with a couple John Coltrane shirts: Live in Japan and Live in Seattle along with John Coltrane with Eric Dolphy: Evenings at the Village Gate. Today is my last dose of the steroid that's been making me not feel terrible, just took the last pill. It's a decreasing dose over six days. Yesterday the pain feeling was starting to creep back (though it inexplicably went away completely again at night though I hadn't taken any more medicine). Mornings I'll wake up a bit stiff in the neck but nothing nearly so bad as before when it was awful pain. Hadn't really felt any other effects either, aside from just not hurting. I'm thinking I'll probably have to reach out to my doctor after today for the next referral. I mean, I'm going to see how this last dose goes, but it just feels like the pain comes back as the medicine wears off. Other than that, yesterday I had another reckoning with my weighted randomization project. I thought, why am I even keeping up this alphabetized formatting in my old spreadsheet even though I never actually make use of it? But since there's information there, I figured I could add columns for the alphabetized name and title and copy them over and in the regular columns just keep the normal name. I also took this opportunity to finally add a column for date acquired (the Coltrane I just got being the first to receive this honor). Something I'd wished I'd had before. And there's no rush in adding the dates. I can refer back to this journal whenever in need. I think I'd never added it because I wouldn't have known the older dates, but that shouldn't hold back the rest. Anyway, I went through and manually corrected all the artist names, which was tedious but not too bad. Started on the album titles and that was going much more quickly and easily. Okay, enough boring shit.

If you don’t mind a little unsolicited advice: if they don’t know what it is, I’d recommend trying acupuncture. Just speaking from experience. .
