ateolf: (me and Leala)

Yesterday I worked a whole bunch on my set for tomorrow's show. It's really come together now. I've got all the main elements set up. And I'd had something set up with a button as a temporary solution as I wasn't able to have it trigger automatically the way I'd envisioned, but I dusted off my old Moog multi-pedal to use a gate on the footswitch and it's going even very much better now! I have a couple other minor ideas to try out today, but mostly it's there set-up wise. Just need to practice it all some more. And probably do some timed runthroughs. But it's quite fun to have a set together that's kind of nothing like anything else I've done before (what with the keyboard and the foot pedal and all).

Here's something from the Rochester trip that I'd meant to mention and forgotten. It's all about their (Mary Beth's parents') cat Maisie. So she's very shy and mostly hides and tries to stay away from stranger. I think on the first night I was over there, she finally came out after a while and it wasn't right away but she eventually started approaching us and was letting me pet her, tentatively at first, for a good bit. But then I did it too much and she gave me the funniest "stop!" command from a cat I've ever gotten. She clapped both her front paws together on my hand (usually cats go for the single swipe or a bit or something) and she had made sure her claws weren't involved at all so it was just these two little fuzzballs clapping around my hand. It was very swift and very decisive and very funny. Then she didn't get near me again for a good number of days. Finally towards the end of the stay she'd let me pet her a little bit here and there, but I didn't try to push my luck! (She's a very cute kittie, oh! Also, she has this thing where she sits looking out the window when it's up, but she sits right on the little ridge where the windows shuts when it comes down. I don't know the name for it, but long, pointy edge across the bottom of the window and she just sits right on top of and along it. I guess that's very much a cat move.)
