Protector of the Mountain
Oct. 17th, 2021 11:37 amYesterday I went out to Brookhaven pub to meet some old ex-coworkers. It was Amogh's birthday and John was there too, as well as two of their current coworkers over at Front Door (one was named Marc and I forgot the name of the other, who arrived later...they both seemed nice!). It was good to see them and catch up. Probably been a couple of years or so. On my way home, I was driving on East Parkway and was behind a couple of teens on four-wheelers and one of them was driving while doing extended wheelies. Made sure to get in the other lane and around them so I wouldn't inadvertently run their stupid asses over. Then Mary Beth and I walked over to the park to walk in the forest. It was a really lovely fall day: rather cool yet very sunny, temperature such that during the day it was verging on jacket weather but not quite (though it hit jacket weather as the sun was going down at night). While walking the trails, we walked past a family and there was a little girl who proudly exclaimed "look at my cool dinosaur!" and sure enough she was holding a stuffed dinosaur and it was pretty cool! And she held up a stick and said "I'm protector of the mountain!" She's probably the coolest kid ever, I dunno. Later, we played this new game we'd been given called Goat Lords and it was silly and fun. We ended up watching a little bit more of Treehouse of Horror at night. We're getting towards completing them (at least the ones released on dvd!). Now it's a new day. I woke up a little early and was waiting for "something" to happen and made a little progress on my work (though progress is a bit of a misnomer as I restructured things so also set it back...).
