ateolfwork lasted nearly forever today (relatively)...didn't get out 'til nearly 6:30...i was all worried i was gonna miss The Simpsons...then after the rush home, arriving just in time, i find it's a re-run anyway...but going through screening on the way out, i was stopped by the security for the cd player in my backpack...it seems we're not "authorized" to bring those anymore...i'm going to try talking to someone and if this is the case, i'm quitting...it's just not fucking worth it if i can't listen to cds...the job's kindv'e an annoyance anyway...and i've been contemplating quitting for a good while...(not counting a few years ago when i started to quit, but the said i could cut back my hours...which i did...) but i've been working there for over 3 and a half years now...and it's a nice little source of income, and it's steady (however small) and reliable that it'll be there...but it would just be torture not being able to listen to cds...definately not worth the strain on my hands and inconvenience of the whole thing...so i'm most likely quitting...it's weird when i think about it, but oh well...
stupid story: the other night at Jillian's (the free night of the other post) the game was playing on the tv's at the bar (the game being the Grizzlies vs the Lakers...) i don't care about sports, but this was amusing 'cuz the Grizzlies (Memphis' new shitty team, the worst team in the NBA) beat the Lakers (ummm...the champions or something...) i always enjoy it when something like that happens...that's all...and we were less than a mile from the place too...at the show later, looking out from the loft's window, we saw some guy stopped at a crosswalk wearing a Lakers shirt...we laughed at him...then he took his coat off to take the shirt off (it wasn't the only shirt he was wearing...) but it was funny seeing someone realize their humiliation just as we're laughing about it...
on ebay yesterday i won something super cool: Pearl Syncussion SY-1...a drum synth:
and finally, yesterday, my Pere Ubu live cd arrived! hot damn that was fast! blessed be paypal!
