ateolfMy new Uhu stic(k) came in the mail yesterday so I got down to some gluing! And I glued all of the sleeves for my "archival series" so now all I've got left to do is burn all the cds and print and apply the disc labels ("all" yeah that's gonna be a time-consuming step). Then Mary Beth and I went up to Crosstown to see Carmen Jones. I didn't know anything about it going in, but it's a modern (for the times) retelling of the opera Carmen with an all black cast set during WWII using the original music from the opera but with updated libretto (in English, of course, and reflecting the updated setting and all that). There's a lot going for it in theory, but I personally can't quite get into Bizet's original music, which made much of it a chore for me (though you get acclimated as it goes along). And now it's the weekend so yeah, on with that.
