Went to a show at Two Rivers with Mary Beth last night. It was a really good one. MPX was first and he put on a really good show. Very atmospheric, I wouldn't say "ambient" but something pushing kind of in that direction, moreso than usual. Bruiser was next and he was great as always. He was using a new ipad for samples and doing some really cool stuff with that! Adam Goodwin was last. He's a double bass soloist and he did some really awesome, abstract stuff. He's from Berlin (originally from Texas). I picked up a couple cds from him after the show: Adam Goodwin: Banishing Ritual and Squidlux: s/t. There was a decent crowd for a rainy Wednesday night in Memphis. Had a good time. Then there was work today. Not much to say about that. I forgot to mention in my last post how I started trying to do a little exercise the night before. Nothing much, just pushups and situps, but holy shit it's way worse than I thought. For the first time ever, I can't even do a fucking situp. Pretty bad. I mean, I can't do a real non-cheating pushup either, but that's expected and I could barely do them most of my life anyway (excepting the period when I was really working out some years ago). I can feel doms from the fake pushups I did so at least that's getting somewhere on track. I'll see if I can try some other things that might be beneficial.

What type of venues do you see these shows at. I tend not to like big crowded things, but coffeeshops and arthouse type venues. We have 1 cool coffee shop that does some experimental (and I'm sure others, but haven't bothered looking).

When you play out is it smaller places like that?
