finished reading Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin at work yesterday...after work Ryan came by quickly 'cuz his band is playing some 80's themed birthday party and he was dressing up for the part and wanted Mary Beth to help apply bad makeup and gel his hair and such...his outfit with the mismatched suit he'd bought earlier in the day was absolutely perfect as far as looking both awesome and ridiculous...then we hurried off to Paul's birthday party way out in a the-middle-of-nowhere that happens to still be in the city somehow...some place called WRanglers (if the name doesn't imply enough...) but it was fun...the guy who does it i actually kind of like, in that goofy but nice way...i got to sing one song, but that one song was "Highway Star"...

yeah, it's actually a "novel in verse"...the first poetry i've read in, well, i don't remember reading poetry much...at least a whole book (not that it's very long...and it's an easy read...) it's something like Russia's Hamlet...(not story-wise or anything like that...but over there Pushkin's Russia's national poet and revered as much as Shakespeare is over here...and Onegin's one of his most revered works...his own personal favorite...) haven't seen the movie...overall the book, while good, isn't so much my thing (the heavy rhyming doesn't strike my "modern" ear so well: something of a prejudice, i admit), but the end was actually pretty amazing...
