on my way to my class yesterday afternoon/evening, Poplar going over I-240 was all backed up and stopped (it's a disgustingly badly designed exchange system there anyways, but it looked like there was a wreck up ahead, at the light afterwards....which is a good ways down...) so i'm all like "i'll just avoid this" and got off at Ridgeway or whatever it is right before the interstate...that's a really weird area, street-layout-wise and i kind've knew where the street that has a bridge over the interstate is, but not completely...i ended up missing it and getting mildly lost only to come out at Walnut Grove...which wouldn't be too bad but i had to go through this stop sign that was might've been at least as long a wait as staying on Poplar would've been...ugh...and i ended up being late for class and got this cramped seat in the back...it sucked but oh well...

i was up very late trying to figure out this physics problem...i never did...it was a show that the resistance of this ends object ends up being this...and the answer i was able to get had a this term in it that isn't in the equation in the book...so i'm guessing i next had to somehow show that that should be equall to one or whatever, but i couldn't figure it out at all...oh well...and it still doesn't make sense logically that it should be that...but anyhow...

after two days of sleeping far too little in a row, i was all dead today...and for some reason (after i was just noticing that i was feeling better) last night i started getting a really bad sore throat...i'm guessing it was related to the not getting enough sleep...i took a good several hour nap after class today...my sinuses had been all starting to fill up...but it *seems* to be getting better now...and i seem to be feeling less woozy at a very slow, unnoticable pace...well, at least i hope so...my throat has at least not been feeling sore since my nap...

i have a spanish midterm tomorrow...[shudder]

Traffic in Memphis

Memphis just isn't driver-friendly, period. Yes, Poplar going over I-240 has been worse than usual lately. It seems I-240 itself gets worse and worse these days. . . It's sad that everyone (myself included, I suppose) is too afraid to drive through the city to get to their destinations, resulting in traffic jams on the expressway at all hours of the day. I sometimes drive through the city regardless (especially if I'm running late to begin with), although about a week and a half ago on Knight Arnold and S Mendenhall somebody shot a gun from the open passenger window of a van on my left while I was stopped at a red light. Obviously the bullet went harmlessly over my vehicle, but the sound hurt my ear badly (even through the glass of the car window), and my jacket smelled like gunpowder for a couple days afterwards. So I keep taking the expressway like every other scared motherfucker.
