from operating systems to Lou York City
Feb. 20th, 2001 03:27 pmi actually finished my operating systems homework like a half hour ago...and i think i actually knew what i was saying for all of it...it's like, wow, i know what i'm talking about...although i know things will get very very much different when it comes to dealing w/ the actual code...[shudder] i didn't get to doing any else last night, but it wasn't too hard and i was able to do it this morning/afternoon nicely...so that's good...(class is at 5:30 today...) in other news, the cd i got for Jacques' birthday was finally shipped today although my Wire cd hasn't been shipped yet...(same order...) it'd better not turn out unavailable...that would bite my bollocks...
but a possibility that turned up last night: David and i might be going to NYC durring my spring break if all goes well...as it stands now, the plan is i'll use my free round trip ticket from my last flight and David'll buy a plane ticket...a big undetermined factor is lodging...we're hoping we'll be able to settle that big issue...tomorrow after my class we're gonna get together and try to figure it all out...i'm gonna try to post to the SY newsgroup about cheap places to stay/stuff to do in NYC while we're there...but since yesterday my news server hasn't been happening and it's pissing me off...(but if anyone out there happens to know something, the information would be greatly appreciated...) this arose 'cuz David has almost 3 weeks of vacation time he has to use by May 31...and i offered my spring break as a chunk of that...we've found that durring the time, at the Knitting Factory, Ruins will be playing the 14th and Two Dollar Guitar will be playing the 15th!!! i've never heard Ruins but they're supposed to be of the best in Japanese noise rock...and i would love seeing some Japanese noise rock live...and Two Dollar Guitar...ooh! and getting the chance to go to the Knitting Factory...ooh! we would also plan on going to that Museum of Modern Art of whose name i'm not sure how to spell...it would rule beyond all belief if it could work out...i guess the biggest factor right now is a place to sleep...maybe we'll be able to get in some sort of hostile or something...i'm not sure how many days we'll be there either...i'm off from the 9th to the 18th of March...it'll depend on price restraints, of course...there's also daily travelling expenses to consider...as well as all the stuff we'll do and the many many cds we'll have to buy...(as monetary restraints allow...) ooh...it's all quite pleasing just thinking about...i guess a lot of that will be determined tomorrow morning/afternoon/etc...
