another catch-up post...thursday night i chilled at ze apartment but went back home after not too long...not much went on...wednesday i went to class, then watched The Simpsons twice (afternoon and the new Halloween episode...) in case anyone missed it: while referring to humanity's great accmoplishments, Homer mentioned "THE GLORY HOLE" that's all...i almost died...then i frantically did my calculus "homework" (it was actually 1/4 of our next exam...the take-home part exists because the stuff we're doing now is far too time consuming to be able to do many complete problem durring a classtime, so there'll be an exam of partial problems and a that take-home part of full problems...) i couldn't finish the last problem...i got like 2/3 or 1/2 of it, but i couldn't figure out what to do for the next part...it seemed like integration by parts should've worked, but that got too complex...i plugged it into Maple and it got something involving the square root of 3 and arctangents and whatnot...i don't know if that's what i should've gotten from the normal procedures or just one of Maple's odd answers...there was also an ln...it had the same thing i did for the parts i was able to do so i don't know...it did have the denominator of what i had left still intact (i remember for sure it was w/in the ln...) [shrug] i believe that most ppl in the class weren't able to do that one either...i also had some algorithms homework to do today, but in having procrastinated the calculus as well, i wasn't able to get to it at all...oh well...good news though: on my algorithms midterm that i was talking about, i actually got a fucking A- (13 out of 15...) woohoo! don't know how that happened, but i won't question...more good news: i'm now making $13/hr...i got my paycheck, which also included the added money i would've gotten from my last 2 paychecks at $13/hr...that's mighty nice...(of course, i only work around 5 hrs/week, so it's not like i'm making a lot of money, but ummm...more money is good...) and i just watched The Simpsons again and here i am...i must make some time to study for the spanish exam i have tomorrow tonight...lots of subjunctivo pasado y los mandatos y condicional y whatnot...another note: Psychocandy is fast becoming one of my favorite albums ever...it's making its way into the ranks of albums such as Marquee Moon and The Clash's first album (and any SY, of course) where i canNOT listen to it w/out cranking the volume all the way up...it gives me such a good feeling inside...that's all...yay distortion...
