ateolf: (METAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
During my lunch break I finished reading Mathematics: by Jacques Roubaud. It was good. Once again very much continuing along the line of the first two in the series ("project"). Turns out this one is only half of a "branch" (weirdly enough the other half of branch three is the penultimate volume to have been published, between branches five and six), which I guess explains why it's a good deal shorter than the others. It's also the last volume to have been translated into English (though if the rest end up making it over, I'm not sure I'd rush out to read them...I've enjoyed reading them overall, but they can be a little bit much).

At night Mary Beth and I went up to Growlers to see Earth. We got there early and stood by the stage for a while. Nate showed up a little later and hung out (also eventually David and Karl and Jack, but only talked the latter two a little after the show). Stebmo opened (this is Steve Moore who is also Earth's trombone and keyboard player...though solo he only played keyboard). He mostly played electric piano but on one song he played a Casio SK-1. It was kinda lightly ambient and jazzy stuff. A good bit of delay but not overwhelmingly so (of course, I do prefer when delay is overwhelming but you can't win 'em all!). Anyway, it was a good set. After that I got his cds: Stebmo: s/t and Stebmo: Super Drum aka Marriage Proposals. Oh, and I'd also picked up an Earth shirt and it says "Earth" and "2" so hell yeah. Anyway, then Earth played and they ruled. It's the twentieth anniversary of Hex so they played the full album and then two more songs (a new one and "Old Black" from Angels of Darkness...). So yeah, good show and stuff!
