I went to the opera with Mary Beth yesterday evening. It was one of those things that are in Opera Memphis's office building around the corner, not an Opera-Opera, but a more informal thing where the singers sing some songs with piano accompaniment. This one was the first being live broadcast on the radio. It was also a tribute to Maria Callas, singing parts she was known for during her career, so it was the first one that was actually all opera music, as usually those, while maybe having some opera pieces sprinkled in, do a lot more with popular types of songs and maybe things like showtunes and drinking songs and stuff. I enjoyed it the most with the opera singers singing all opera music. But anyway, yeah, it was really good. Oh, I forgot to mention that we went early for the talk before and they talked a lot about her life and biography and some of the music being played and stuff and that was a good talk.
