An Article

I worked some more on the remix last night. Hopefully I can finish that soon (with the approaching deadline!). The Daily Memphian just put out an article for Five Must See Shows in April that lists the Memphis Concrète Haven Haus show as one of those five. I'm actually a little annoyed at the choice of show, since that's one of the more low-stakes one (really would have liked someone to talk about the free jazz show tomorrow night at Zen House, though that's not April, or the Water Is the Sun show at Black Lodge which is the night before the Haven Haus show). I mean, the mention's good and nice, but journalism always feels pretty weird and arbitrarily focused. I also don't like that it's the show I'm playing being featured, but I have to remember that I should be happy for the other artists on the bill. Oh, and if you click on it, note that you have to be registered to read it. It's free to sign up (but I know, handing over your email to a site is not as "free" as they want you to think it is). Oh, what the hell, it's my journal. I'll copy paste it here (there's also more as it's about five shows, but I'm just copying the relevant one).

Oh, and it's also funny that I provided credits for both the pictures they used and they even went back and asked for the Strooly credit 'cuz he initially didn't think they were going to use it but then they did, but it still didn't show up in the article (but my name's there with "courtesy" so it almost makes it look like I took it or something?).
