Well, so remember what I was saying about the cd that is today's Current Music option down there? (That it was not playing and registering as a blank disc.) Well, I went and downloaded the digital version from bandcamp and tried ripping it "back" onto the disc that wouldn't play and then it worked and now the disc has the music on it. I thought it was a longshot, but what do you know? After work Mary Beth and I went up to La Guadalupana for Dustin's birthday. There were a bunch of his friends there, mostly that we didn't know (or met once or twice before years ago) and also Josh and Molly. It was fun. I convinced Dustin to try tongue. After that, a bit after that, I went out to a show (had to wait at home a bit 'cuz it started so late) at B-Side. First was Naan Violence, doing some raga stuff. Main dude had a sitar and there was a guy with a flute and then Ben (of Optic Sink) was droning on some synths. The sitar guy had the total George Harrison thing going on. They were good. Next it was Optic Sink and they were also good. Their new stuff is more guitar-oriented (but there's still some synth and always the drum machine stuff going on). I'd wanted to see the touring band Static Static as I'd heard their stuff and it sounded good (synth punk), but it was a later show and they were still setting up after midnight and I knew I needed good rest today for practice for the live score which is about to happen soon so I split before they played. Ah well.
