At Home

Mary Beth and I went on a walk yesterday afternoon. Not a whole lot else. Jon Spencer played in town last night but I opted to skip it (his stuff can be wildly hit-or-miss and the name of his current band The Hitmakers led my mind to the direction that it would go a certain way, but had I bothered to check them out beforehand I probably would have made a different decision). Anyway, someone posted a video clip of the show last night and I thought I recognized Bob Bert on scrap metal so I checked it out and it was quite good! Then I'd wished I went! Maybe they'll come through again and I'll get another chance to check out this band. Looking it up, I also saw that Janet Weiss also plays drums in this band (didn't see her in the video though I did see two drummers so not sure if she's on this tour or not). Anyway, it was multiple drummers and one guitar and Jon Spencer being Jon Spencer on the vocals and it was a little cacophonous and stripped down and little noisy and it sounded good! Okay, next time! I had more of the issues of the night before though less bad so maybe it wasn't a night for going out anyway. Anyway, now I'm up and back to working from home so that's better.
