First Day

Back with the students. Of course I got to sleep pretty late last night, but I've felt pretty good regardless. A bit in the auditorium, then it was homeroom for a couple of hours. I think I did pretty alright with homeroom. I've never really known what the hell to do with it, but I came up with some stuff today. My homeroom even has a mascot now (pink panthers...?). After lunch we went to all our classes again for a few minutes (first period was so short I didn't even have time to finish roll before the bell rang). Not a whole lot of time to do much, but I got to see some students. Not as successful as homeroom, but also the amount of time was difficult to do anything in: take roll, there's a little bit of time left over but not much so just go over some of the expectations but not all of them. Anyway, I think the day went pretty well. Of course, it's not a real day and only a small amount of students are here yet. I must say, it's kind've awesome coming back to the same school at the beginning of the year where some of the kids know you already. It's a lot different feeling in how the year starts. I was there late with the copier being annoying (luckily, this year they let us split our copy code between both machines and allocate how many copies each gets so I was able to go to a backup machine). Anyway, I guess I should do some more preparations and stuff.
