"don't make an idol of me"

went to a show last night with Mary Beth...Wovenhand and Twin Pilot at the Hi-Tone...the first band was someone we work with's boyfriend's band...they left no doubt as to the source of their name with samples from Twin Peaks playing in between all their songs...a little cheesy...the singer really likes Tom Verlain too as he did a bad imitation of him the whole night...overall they were okay...kinda bland, neither bad nor good...Wovenhand was pretty good...i listened to 'em for the first time the night before (just a song and a half on youtube) and hated it...mostly his singing voice...but seeing them changed my mind...his voice was still terrible, but other stuff was alright (but not the super-christian lyrics, yikes!) the drummer was fucking badass (it was just the singer/guitar/bouzouki player and then every song had a similar pre-looped synth drone underneath...) anyway, the show was alright...uh, anyway...today at work i finished reading The Herbert Huncke Reader...oh and last night i picked up some insoles so hopefully i can have a decent walk tonight without my foot hurting...(i haven't walked in days!) anyway...
