let's go...uh...

another day of guruing at work yesterday...fine...oh, and a perfectly wonderful example of how i'm a big fucking idiot: coming in from my lunch break where i was reading my book in my car, so i'm walking through the lobby carrying my book of course and this girl who's sitting there says "hey that's a great book" or something simiiar...i believe i mumbled something to the effect of "oh yeah"...i dunno...something lame, she asks me where i'm at in the book so i opened it up to the page (as i'm reading House of Leaves it's visually pretty obvious where i'm at just by looking at the page...) she makes a comment about wait til you get to the end, something...something about how it's her favorite book...i mumble something else innocuous and walk away...then as i'm past the doors into the uh i guess work area i realized i didn't even say my name (or say anything really, for that matter) and finally my brain finishes processing the received stimuli and i actually realize what just happened, you know a girl talked to me...i don't know why it's so difficult to comprehend, but i guess that's the whole reason i'm such an idiot...i was kind of in a hurry, but still...i just can't think...anyway, i assume, hopefully, she was there to apply...which means i'll eventually see her again and can perhaps actually talk to her then...it's one time in a billion a girl actually talks to me and i don't even talk back (and of all things, books...one of the few things i could actually hold a conversation with a stranger about...along with music...)

anyway, moving aside from what a dumbass i am...after work i went in search of Josh's birthday present again (since yesterday was his birthday and we were going bowling that night) and i went to several stores (ones that i didn't make it to two weeks ago when i first looked for it) and none of 'em fucking had what i was looking for...at best buy i ended up getting a few things for myself:

(the latter is a two disc compilation of three albums...i have another one disc thing that has two of 'em on it, which i was coincidentally listening to yesterday...but as Lee Perry's catalog has always been pretty spotty with the issues, not all the titles match up and i wouldn't be surprised if the music's somewhat different on each version...plus the older one is on a bit of a crappy label (RAS, there's even small printing errors with the colors on the back) and the new one is on a respectable label (Trojan)...so yeah, i finally ended up with some cds at spin street (my original plan was surprisingly enough something else...oh well, screw creative gift-giving...) i ended up with a used copy of:

for myself...

well, then i went to the bowling alley with Jacques and Amber...oh, on the way i fucking his this huge pothole and the tire in question busted up...so i had to change a tire and i guess i've gotta get that taken care of today...bollocks...there was a bunch of people there and it was a happy birthday time, etc...they have a video jukebox there now...so lots of bad music videos were seen...awesome! my bowling was horrible at first...but then by the third round i started remembering kinda how to bowl alright...uh...i got to bed really late and thought i was gonna catch up on sleep...but no...i woke up with 7 hours and i've been really behind this week...also, this week i've had this almost-sick thing starting to come on...coughing, mucus in my throat but not stopped up...just kind of there...well now as i wake up without enough sleep my nose is blocked up, etc...my throat's all jacked up...it's pretty lame...and of course we HAVE A SHOW TONIGHT AT MURPHY'S...ugh...being sick's especially worse when i have a show and i haven't slept, etc...anyway...
