the inexplicable
Mar. 28th, 2002 08:06 pmtuesday was another night of being up all night for no reason and wasting time...i got to bed super late and so i skipped my first class...i had started to plan on skipping my third class 'cuz i didn't do the assignments, but after my walking class i had enough time to throw some shit together for the two homework problems...it was pretty bad and even incomplete for how wrong it was, but it was something i guess...then i went to the lab and printed out the 3 out something-teen problems i actually did...once again, something...blah...so i guess i'm gonna screw up one of the classes i was doing decently in too...i wish i had had time to take a nap but i didn't so i just went back home and bathed and all that since i didn't get a chance before class, then work...
afterwards i went over to Brad's and then we went to Neil's for the usual night of karaoke...firstly i did "Come Sail Away"...too bad Keith wasn't their (it's "his" song...) not to mention too bad we'll never see him again...i didn't so much butcher it as do a bit of parody...then Brad and i did that "Now I've Had the Time of My Life" song...it was fucking great...we received a standing ovation from our table...it was even caught on video (i wanna see that...not to mention when i did "Satisfaction" a while back and Karissa videoed it...) later Ethan-Paul did some Sinatra (or something similar) song that he didn't pick and was asking someone who knew the song to come up and help him...he was doing this after the song started...i said i knew it (even though i didn't) and got up and sang that w/ him...then it got back around to my turn and i did "What's Up" (that terrible 4 Non Blondes song...as if they have songs that aren't...but yea...) it was great 'cuz the girl that ALWAYS does that song (that or "Bobby McGee" [shudder] though strangely enough she did something different last night...) was still there...oh, and i announced before i did it "this is my favorite song about revolution written by a record label"...now for the wackiness: there was this girl there, a friend of Leah/Lauren/Tish, and like as she was leaving she gave me her number...not something that happens very often to me...for the record, her name's Amanda...however, she does listen to bad music (nothing that a few mix tapes can't fix! ha! ha! ha!) but at least she apparently appreciates bad singing, always a plus...she was even the one that suggested the Dirty Dancing song for Brad and me to sing...and i have heard someone say that there's more to someone's personality than taste in music...i'm still trying to figure that one out though...they were prob'ly lying or something...she is quite attractive, i guess that counts for something...i guess i'll be calling her in the near future, so begin the awkward silences!!!
between class and door hanging today i went by Lastchance:
Bill Ding: Trust in God, but Tie Up Your Camel
Hovercraft: Experiment Below
Mission of Burma: Signals, Calls, and Marches
and Shangri-La:
Wire: It's Beginning To and Back Again
The Wedding Present: Hit Parade 1
we barely did any door hanging...the majority of the time was spent eating at El Porton...that was pretty cool...then my other class and now home...the end...

Date: 2002-03-28 09:13 pm (UTC)good god, the wedding present did some nifty covers on those singles.
vol 1: the go-betweens, altered images, the theme from twin peaks, and "pleasant valley sunday". they turn a (song written for the) monkees (by a record company) song good.
vol 2: ehh, the covers are mostly bad, but they do "theme from shaft", and, most importantly, bowie's "chant of the ever-circling skeletal family".
i cannot say enough good things about the weddoes. woohoo!

Re: a small world after all?
Date: 2002-04-02 02:12 am (UTC)not that i know of...wait wait wait wait!!! Craig...i sometimes go w/ a Craig, i don't actually know his last name...but if he has red hair, listens to punkrockandroll/rockabilly, drives a car he built himself w/ flames painted on the sides, and is dating a certain Jessica, then yes...
(actually this is not at all what i said last time...hence the multiple "wait"s of sudden surprise/realization...)
