my spanish presentation went pretty well, i guess...considering i just read verbatum from what i previously wrote...but hey, there's no way around that for me...afterwards i went to Lastchance to see if they had the new Fuck album so i could have it all listened to before the show tomorrow...they didn't have it, but i brought two cds to sell (Reagan Youth and a garage rock comp...) and he took 'em for quite a generous amount...i also went to the back and attacked the used section...here's what i got:
Aphex Twin: Selected Ambient Works Volume II (2 discs, only $8...actually he just took this one as a direct trade w/ the cds i brought...sweet...a good bit more than they were worth too...)
The Black Heart Procession: Three (now i can finally stop feeling lame about having one of their shirts while only having a 3-song ep of theirs...)
Superchunk: s/t
Stereolab: Peng!
much more than i had intended to buy, but hey...me likee cds! next i went to Shangri-La to see if they had the new Fuck, but they didn't either...then to Wherehouse, where i didn't expect them to have it anyways...they didn't...then finally to Borders on the way home...not grately expecting them to have it either...they didn't...i looked around at other stuff...considered getting one of two Fall albums they had...looked at the books to see if they had that collection of philosophical essays about The Simpsons i heard about from him but they didn't have that either...so i went home...here i am...i got my grade for the first op sys programming assignment via email today...it was a 70 but he DID count it as late so it's a 67...i can deal w/ that...i mean, i didn't even see if it got to work (and i'm almost positive it didn't...from the comments i glanced at that he left...)

I saw a "The Simpsons Sing the Blues" cd at Wherehouse the other day -- would this have been something you cared to own? Because I instantly thought of you. . .

i've seen that myself...i dunno if i'll get that...definately not in the immediate future...maybe one day far along when i feel i just have too much money to burn or something...i still have the tape from back in the day...not the greatest of Simpsons moments, though...

You know you're indie... when you feel like you've broken a law by wearing a t-shirt of the band you only own an EP of.

oh, and I own that simpsons CD... it's from the days when CDs came in those long boxes. or was that just the store i bought it from?
it even came with a pop-out stand-up bart. sweet.

i saw 'em live w/ limited funds, so at the merch table i just got an ep and the shirt...i went w/ shirt first over the album 'cuz i could get the cd anywhere...finding the shirt again would be much rarer opportunity...so i got that, planning to get a full album later...and finally, it is done...

and yea...that cd's pretty damned old...i'm trying to remember back when "Do the Bartman" was on the radio...ah...damn...i think that was 6th grade...i'll guess '90...actually i'm off to look for the cassette now...eh...it's gonna take a little more searching than i feel like doing this moment...but something like that...but i used to have so much Simpsons CRAP when i was a young lad...i think it burned me out for a while 'cuz i stopped watching the show for a couple years at some point...don't remember exactly when, maybe 4th season...i guess it was around the time Beavis & Butthead came along...maybe a little before that...but going to college, i rediscovered the greatest show ever and now i'm back to being obsessed again...it's pretty interesting/neat/something to have something in common w/ me of so long ago...considering most that's changed...taste-wise...but while i'm thinking about pseudo-nostalgic crap i'll just throw out this thought as it's just entering my head...(as it does pseudo-often)...i've been in college longer than i went to high school...i could have repeated high school completely (and then some) after i graduated...that makes me feel too damned old...it's an almost frightening thought...but enough of this derranged tangent that came from nowhere...(and it's going straight back there...) (sorry...little Buzzcocks reference...being a dork is cool...'cuz ummm...i can make Buzzcocks references...yea...okay...the end...)
