last night i went up to Murphy's with Josh, Molly, and Eric...the mission was to retrieve some crap suspected as being left at the last show...the mission was accomplished in regards to the power strip, the power adapter that goes to one of the E-H pedals was not there...maybe it's just been overlooked in some random bag of crap or another...i should hope so anyway...and while we were there we played some pool and i sucked...fun times...today, after a succession of a bunch of calls finally got a show booked at the Buccaneer...yes, finally, a venue other than Murphy's! of course, it's due to another band messaging us on myspace...as the title says it's sunday august 7th...i was about to get pissed off at the Buccaneer as i was sure they were dicking me around...a few days of "we don't have the book today you can call back and talk to X or Y"...next day "this is Y, oh you'll need to talk to X"..."call back tomorrow"...then on my lunch break today i called (after having called on my earlier break, being told to call back in a couple hours) and got him and he put me on hold for 13 minutes...then the phone was just hung up...i thought that was the last straw but i called back a few minutes later and he was like "oh sorry, it got disconnected" (yeah, i know he just forgot...i could hear him chattin' and carrying on in the background for 13 minutes...but that's OKAY...) so then he confirmed the show and stuff...so yeah...work was sort of strange tonight...i think some girl almost hit on me or something? i'm not sure...i was on a call so i wasn't paying attention too much...but after going out of her way to get my attention (she was sitting across the aisle behind me...) she asked to see my shoes...i think she started to ask for my number (maybe i misheard that) but then she asked when i got off and when i said 8 she was like "oh, never mind"...i found it more odd than anything else...then i did a relief for someone and saw she's reading Norwegian Wood so there was a brief conversation about Haruki Murakami...then she asked me about my sister (i guess i thought she kinda looked familiar) so i guess she is or used to be friends with my sister...which i guess i can't say is the strongest recommendation a person can have in my books...anyway, i got home and finished reading Elective Affinities by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe...and that's bout it...
