Exciting things from yesterday! The first exciting thing is that I got some cds in the mail: Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein: Stranger Things 4 • Volume One and Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein: Stranger Things 4 • Volume Two. I had pre-ordered them I guess about when the last part of that last season was out (didn't realize it was a pre-order at first) so after months of alternately forgetting and remembering about it, they finally came! I also got in the mail my SantaThing books!: Geek Love by Katherine Dunn and Mouth to Mouth by Antoine Wilson. In the early afternoon I went on an adventure to mail rent (before the incoming inclement weather was to hit). So this shouldn't have been an adventure. I first just went up to the usual nearby-ish post office and when I got to the drive-up mailbox, I could see there was a small package or large envelope just poking out from inside, stuck being shoved in or whatever. So I didn't want to stick it in there if it wasn't actually going to go down in. So I figured I'll go to the next post office. So went to the other kinda near one in the other direction and they just had a basket covering the mailbox to not use it. Okay, fine, they don't want that being used. I'll just go out to another post office. Now I'm in East Memphis territory. I get to the other post office I know about and THAT mailbox has clear plastic covering up the hole. So they don't want that being used either! I wonder if it has to do with mail being stolen out of boxes. I'd been avoiding putting mail in mailboxes of late because of that (except during the day when it's a little bit before it'd be picked up, like it was yesterday afternoon). Anyway, I figure I've got one more shot, so I look up a post office nearby and try that. It doesn't even have an outdoor mailbox so I figure I'm at the end of the line and just need to go inside. Annoying 'cuz I wasn't dressed for it, in my sweatpants and slip-on shoes. But whatever. Not like hardly anyone was around. So I went and dropped it off inside a post office, after just driving around a whole bunch. There ya go, the most boring adventure imaginable! So then not too long after that, the weather started! It snowed! It seemed pretty light but it kept coming on and off throughout the late afternoon and night. It was super windy too. So I know this crazy cold and wind has hit most of the country. I know up north it's insanely cold. It's very cold here for here. Single digit temperatures that it rarely reaches. And we almost never get snow this close to Christmas! I think I heard it's supposed to even still be around (or at least some of it) by Christmas because it's not supposed to warm up! We shall see. At night Mary Beth and I drank hot chocolate and watched Steven Universe. There ya have it!
