The Family Ghost show #29 P&H 2008/10/02 (1/2)

the show last night went pretty well in spite of being just half the band...here's what we played:

Phantom Limb
Oh How We Laughed

Taken
The Longest Day of the Year
Calvary Cross
two covers, but with such an usual setup you gotta make allowances..."Taken" we played completely differently...just two guitars (i played the bass part on guitar) and it was arranged a little differently (abbreviated) and i sang instead of yelled in a way i'd never done before...so that was fun...we actually did pretty well considering we didn't practice over half of what we played AT ALL...and the other songs only with the full band...it was a fun show anyway...thanks to the six people who showed up!

on to more personal news, yesterday after the last post Mary Beth and i went around to thrift stores and at thrift town i picked up a few books for super cheap: Miniature Schnauzers by Beverly Pisano and Gloria Lewis, The Erotic Poems by Ovid, and Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson...i think that brings me up to date...

if you like 'the erotic poems' try to find a copy of 'o amor natural' it's only been published in dutch and portugese but worth translating. i miss memphis thrift shops!
