sound

started off yesterday by meeting Ryan (Mary Beth and i) at crumpet's where it was Ryan's roommate Ben's last day of working there and we had lunch...then we (Mary Beth and i, i guess from here on out you can interpret "we" that way) met Dustin, Josh, Molly, and baby Maria at the pink palace to see that science of sound or whatever it's called exhibit...it was a bit disappointing though...it was more directly aimed for kids, but even keeping that in mind the exhibits were kinda on the lame side...you'd go up to a booth and push a button, etc...it was interesting to find out i can hear pitches a LOT higher in my left in than in my right...and they had this one thing where you could listen to samples of songs from different decades (50s-80s) and they had Kraftwerk's "The Model" but under the 80s and they had the year as 1981...that song's from fucking 1978...anyway after that the same group of us went out and ate some chinese buffet...then we went home and shortly thereafter Ryan came over and the three of us played Settlers of Catan and it was pretty swell...for some reason i couldn't go to sleep last night til super late...i'm pretty tired...uh...

I loved that Science of Sound thing! I thought it was endearing that all the exhibit booth things were all broken down and decrepit. I especially enjoyed the "make your own video" activity. But then again, Jacques and I got in for free. Maybe I would have enjoyed it much less had I paid 8 bucks or whatever to get in.

it was okaaaaaay...not as cool as i was expecting...and yeah, i guess i wouldn't've had much to be disappointed over if i hadn't paid for it...

Well, for future reference, you can get in for free after 4. We went a few weeks ago to see the IMAX ocean thing (which was awesome...I'd never seen an IMAX movie before...makes all other movies look like piles of puke), and it conveniently ended right at 4. So the music thing was just a free added bonus.

well, dang...we went at 3...though after we were sufficiently bored with the exhibit we went down through the rest of the museum...i hadn't seen the Piggly Wiggly since i was a kid...and fossils are neat...
