"Illness reduces man to his basic state: a cloaca in which the chemical processes continue."*

Mary Beth and i went to the library bookstore today...she had been accompanying me with my lame errands...i got: Winesburg, Ohio by Sherwood Anderson, The Last Temptation of Christ by Nikos Kazantzakis, The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy, The Ballad of the Sad Café and Other Stories by Carson McCullers, The Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers, and Nana by Émile Zola...we had dinner with my dad...that's about it...the pull-cord for my light fixture in my room broke so my lights are always on (as i have to keep my fan on at all times as it's summer and all...) so i'm having to unscrew the bulbs at night...lameness...but that's trite, i just have nothing else to say...i do have to pee...

I really enjoyed The God of Small Things. I think I'd like to read those Carson McCullers books, as well.

Enjoy!

thanks! i'd never heard of it, but Mary Beth had and she said it was pretty good and when a book is $2 you say "why not!?" plus i like finding new writers i'd never heard of anyway...i haven't read Carson McCullers yet either, but as i like Flannery O'Connor i'm thinking i'll like her too...

I've read one of McCullers's books, and I quite liked it, so I know I'd like more.
