last night i got some gifts from Mary Beth!: Franny and Zooey by J. D. Salinger and The Tin Drum by Günter Grass...been writing...got more to due, my last day's tomorrow...get to work and all that...

oh, what's the best? i've heard some say this is the best...though they also say The Catcher in the Rye isn't really good at all...i read it a long time ago (though i'm sure it would have been better much longer ago than that when i was in high school or something...how i also felt about A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, but i digress...) and i liked it okay but was a little underwhelmed by it...of course, i barely remember much of it now...anyway...

Yeah, I think "A Perfect Day for Bananafish" is one of the best short stories ever written. F&Z is still great though. Not a bad choice at all...
