stuffs...
got my other birthday present from Mary Beth yesterday: Network dvd...today at work, almost right before i left, i finished reading To Have and Have Not by Ernest Hemingway...i'd read the first part of it for a class years ago (i'd been thinking it was like half the book, but it turns out not-quite-a-quarter...) we'd read that part of the book and watched the movie (which only takes from that beginning, and is VERY liberal with that as it is...and it's a terrible movie...) it'd been years since i've read any Hemingway and i'd been taking for granted my high-held status of his, maybe even questioning...but reading this book set me straight and completely made me remember why he's so fucking great...the end is just brutal (not physically or violently but emotionally...) well, book reviews aside, i guess that's it...
