apr s bollocks

let's see...what crap that's happened in the past few days is worth mention? as i was leaving my parents' house sunday night i found a package for me that has, for some reason, gone there instead of my apartment...but it contained Wreckers of Civilisation: the Story of Coum Transmissions & Throbbing Gristle by Simon Ford, very good as i had been getting worried and wondering where the hell it was...wait!!! that wasn't sunday, that was saturday, sunday The Family Ghost practiced...that was cool...

i've been out of internet for all this fucking time because Tim let the bill get too far behind...i gave him a check monday night so he could go hurry and take care of it, he didn't get around to doing it today (and he's had a bunch of days off from work due to an accident with his finger...) had i had internet access sooner, i just MAY have been able to get online to get some fucking Elvis Costello tickets...but as it stands they're all fucking sold out...4 fucking shows here at the Hi-Tone and they're all sold out...Jacques went down there this afternoon and i asked him if he'd get my ticket (as i work so there's no way i can fucking go up there myself) blah...anyway...yeah, i'm pissed about all that...

did anything of interest happen on monday? i can't remember anything so probably not...i remember a good bit of "retro" video game playing (largly Galagy, Ms. Pac Man...stuff on my Namco/Midway game comps...) tuesday Matt came over (actually i picked him up and brought him over...) we also went to Target where i got, among other things, a new hand held tape recorded...all we've had here is Brad's crappy one that doesn't work at the right (or any constant) speed anymore...we recorded our little rock-out session...i mostly just played my drum machine (which i had fixed the night before...it just needed new batteries...hooray for the simple solution!!!) through my pedals...though i did other stuff it was fun and shit...yesterday Amanda got me this awesome book: The World Encyclopedia of Flags...a nerdy compliment to my atlas collection...a BADASS compliment to my atlas collection! ...hrm...and then there's today...and the bullshit about not getting to see Elvis Costello...well at least i have my shitty internet again...ra ra ra...

p.s.
OH YEAH!!! and after 7 fucking months or so of having the exact same break schedule at work, this week they fucking changed it! and it's bullshit! on top of that my first break happened at 3 different times throughout the week (12:15, 12:30, and then 12:10 the rest of the days...what the fuck is the ponit of that!?) it's really pissing me off 'cuz it's lamer than my normal breaks...i'd better go back to what i had next week...

Dear Robert,
I'm so happy that you've taken to your flag book. I knew it would be the kinda thing you'd pour over, glassy-eyed, and exclaim, "whoa," when you came across something cool. And don't think I'm ever making fun of you for your atlas and latent flag fascination. It's not your thirst for knowledge that amuses me but your fixed and grinning stare as you hold the book too close to your face. It's pretty cute.

you know what's crazy about this post? i bought some wrapping paper that is adorned with all the flags of the world at that cool dollar store on park. the crazy thing though, is that i bought the wrapping paper with you in mind. i've been holding onto it for months, just waiting for an occasion to give you a wrapped present. i didn't even know that you were so interested in flags; i only knew that it reminded me of you.

weird, huh?

woah...i'd never specifically list flags as one of my biggest interests/hobbies, but some of them have super-nifty designs...and this encyclopedia has a bunch of historical information about the different countries (at least so far as it pertains to the flags), as well as what everything on each flag stands for...also, it's not just national flags, but all kinds of fucking flags...as well as flags of the past that aren't used anymore, etc...isn't that fuckin' awesome! but still, don't hesitate to get me a gift to put in that flag wrapping paper now!!!
