it's been a while...

do you remember where i left off? no? me neither...but anyway, practiced happened thursday night and we went through "the set" (that's seeming more and more comical to refer to as "the set" now that we don't seem able to get a goddamned show...) then friday, uh, i think there was some hanging out...like Jason and Amanda came over or i went over there but that was so long ago i forget...

saturday i went to Guitar Center where i endulged in a sale they were having and got some microphones...they had sold out of the deal i wanted...it was a tube condensor mic for $200 with a free non-tube condensor mic with it...but a substitution was made and i got a different condensor mic that was on sale for $200 and another condensor mic was given to me for free...(i ended up with an Audio-Technica AT3035 and a Oktava MK-219 if anyone's counting...though i'm sure i'm the only one...good thing it's my journal...) i also got a set of 4 Audio-Technca drum mics...Amanda was gracious enough to accompany me in this shopping experience and be bored out of her mind for an hour...later that night we had Nerd-Fest...Jacques and Amanda brought over some nerdy anime stuff and it was watched...my Simpsons: Mr. Sparkle t-shirt came in the mail...

then i got sick...it really hit late late saturday night (i was up for a while not sleeping, really like 5 or 6 sunday morning) i think it was a stomach virus...i had terrible diarrhea and just felt awful...i spent all day in bed (with the occasional stint in the bathroom) asleep almost the whole time...i had to cancel practice, which sucks...but, of course, it was physically impossible for me to do anything...and over the course of the night going into monday i shit myself 3 times (nothing major, just tinny little bubles that immediately clenched up and woke me up...except for the third i guess...and after the second i made a makeshift diaper out of a washcloth stuck in my underwear...but it seemed to have moved in my sleep...i used it again at work on monday just in case, luckily it wasn't needed...) i bet you're glad to know all this! (i know i sure am!) i was feeling a lot better on monday so i decided to make it in to work...i still was by no means all better...i was semi-out of it most of the day but after 5 pm or so i started to feel normal again...i didn't eat anything at all for almost two whole days...so when i stopped feeling sick i started feeling hungry...but of course it's been hard to eat...i still is...Amanda was super nice and brought me some soup and such...i went over to her and Jason's apartment a little after work...watched tv...we also watched River's Edge...later i went with Jason to Krystal's where i had my first solid food in over 2 days...(those new BA burgers...at least a step above regular krystal burgers...)

so i've been feeling mostly back to normal today...just really hungry, though not in a way where i feel like eating...my stomach's just a little messed up from the sickness/having nothing put it in for so long...but i feel a lot better so i'm happy about that...uh yeah...well i guess that's all for now...sorry if u actually made the effort to read this...

and i finished reading Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said by Philip K. Dick yesterday as well...i need to stop forgetting all of this important information...

Oh, sorry your sick. You should drink some Gatorade. It will make the stomach mess feel better, replace your electrolytes, etc. A few months ago when I thought I had food poisoning it helped me a lot.

i got it on ebay...if you search for it you'll find it...if you do so make sure you get the blue one and not the white one (the blue is official and the white's a bootleg...it is also of inferior design...) as for sickness, i'm not sick no more...it went away yesterday evening...my friend got me some pedialyte, actually...though by the time i got it i was starting to feel better...maybe gatorade would have been better...it certainly does taste better...

this is eddie, don't know if you remeber me or not. We went to two sonic youth shows together, the one in atlanta and new orleans where you left something, and missed out on meeting lee ranaldo. Anyway, I'm trying to get up a group of people to go to a lot of the shows and I'm sure your going. So e-mail me or something about it.

Philip K. Dick is the shit by the way: favorites by him are Valis, A Scanner Darkly, and The Man in the High Castle.

of course i remember you, Eddie! and i haven't seen the information on their tours this summer yet...i mean, if i don't see them at least once i'm damned to hell or something...have they released any schedules yet?

and i love Dick...
Valis: along with Radio Free Albemuth, the least favorite of his i've read...i thought it was OKAY but i'm not a big fan of it...
A Scanner Darkly: one my favorites as well...
The Man in the High Castle: got it the same time i got Flow My Tears..., haven't read it yet...will in the near future as i work my way through the big stack of yet-to-read books...

i haven't seen any dates yet, but i'm just preparing my savings for seeing them abundantly when they do tour, plus planning it out far in advance as i want to see as many shows as possible.

I'm probably going to go see xiu xiu during spring break in new orleans, that should be fun, the new album is really, really good.

the new album is really good, though prob'ly my least favorite of the three so far...of course that's not saying much 'cuz they're all so good...it's still new though maybe there'll be some growing on me it'll do...i saw 'em here a few months ago and it was a good show, though it was just Jamie Stewart solo...i'm hoping that now the album's out they'll tour again with a full band...
