back to doing stuff (hopefully...)
yesterday i went to The Apartment (as usual) and Jacques and i got started on our cover of "Strawberry Milk" for this Free Kitten tribute album...we were gonna record two guitar parts and vocals for the base tracks, but for some reason it appears that Chris "borrowed" my fucking microphone w/out even consulting me about it...i COULD'VE used one of my karaoke mics, but i wanted to use my good mic for this...so we'll do that next weekend when we do the other "overdubs"...so Jacques played the main melody thing on the machine-gun guitar and i played the noisy guitar part on the Moog Liberation...the recording sounds *extremely* cool...that's all...the way the synth sounds amazes me quite a bit...as another side-note, we're bringing the song into a more traditional slo-core context...rokk on...then Brad came over and we ate at the most rockin'est Chinese buffet in Memphis...i forget the name, but it's fucking huge...back to The Apartment...
the night was most noteworthy due to Brian's showing up and hanging out...don't see that dude too much no more...Jenna showed up too...Jacques had rented "The Last House on the Left" (i think that's the title...) and we watched that...an odd "argument" arose about the movie (not really an argument, but i can't quite think of a word to proppery describe it...) i won't go into it other than to say it was "odd" 'cuz i don't really know if i could explain it...it was just odd...though nothing of any grave importance anyhow...oh yea, before the movie i was playing w/ MTV Music Generator that Brad brought over on the playstation and i started to write this phat song (i'm still tempted to call it a "mod") it was all rhythmically awkward and mildly chaotic...Brad kept saying i was "genius"...out of mockery i'm sure...after the movie i realized that it was about 1:10...doh! so i went home to not get enough sleep...
i didn't get enough sleep but i wanted more so i stayed in bed 'til 9:30 (right when i need to BE at work) so i was an hour late...but it doesn't matter 'cuz they don't care...they usually even write on my time card the time i actually show up for "scheduled start time" when i'm late...it was a really slow day at work anyways...i got a lot of reading done...now i only have 29 pages left in Beloved (Toni Morrison) so i should be able to finish by tomorrow w/ a bit of ease...now must get started on school stuff and then Futurama (hopefully) and then Simpsons...god i "rule"...
