last night Jacques got off work early so he called for me to pick him up...i did...stayed there for a little while but came back home soon enough...wrote my composition for spanish class...it was fun making up a bunch of bullshit about math (that's what i did...it was relevant to the assignment so...) slept...went to class...the hardest fucking thing has to be (not THE hardest, but horribly difficult nonetheless) proofreading and checking other classmates' papers for errors...it's like, well, *i'm* making these mistakes and not knowing it, so how the hell do i notice it when someone else makes the mistakes!? oh well...it *should* be something i should be able to do...but it takes too much time for me to analyze the grammar...it's still not at all natural for me and i have think about it all really hard...and, as apparent from watching my paper getting graded, i fuck up all too often...argh! it's just too much all at once as everything gets muddled w/ everything else in my brain...and incidentally i missed bunches of the girl i was grading's errors, that would be noticed by the teacher/her assistant when i'd ask a question about something else...i just have trouble seeing the errors unless it's something glaringly obvious...but enough of that...i got my oil changed after class...went home...went to The Apartment...Jacques and i went to the Sub Shop...back to The Apartment...attempted writing songs and whatnot...amused ourselves immensely by looking at Anal Cunt song titles online...attempted some more song writing...David got home, Brad came over...they went to get Taco Bell and i went home 'cuz i was on the verge of passing out...and here i am still on the verge of passing out...i guess i'll do that soon...

Anal Cunt's song titles used to be a lot more amusing (especially on albums like Top 40 Hits, where every song seemed like inane commentary on the music industry), but these days they're just in it for pure shock value. Likewise, their general musical quality has gone quite downhill in the past couple of years, except for that album of acoustic love songs (if only I were joking...).

yea...i have Everyone Should Be Killed...i do enjoy the "Some Songs" "Some More Songs" etc...but (sadly enough) i find the song titles on I Like It When You Die (brilliant album title) to be funny too...i haven't heard it yet though...and while they're all "shocking" and all, they're still inane, which i guess it what keeps it amusing...and yes, we were listening to sound clips from Picnic of Love as well...i must own this album...

Titles like "Kyle from Incantation Has a Mustache" and "I Liked Earache Better when Dig Answered the Phone" are wonderfully inane without going for the shock value of their later stuff. Their covers are also wonderful; no one can sing EMF's "Unbelievable" quite like Seth Putnam.

I borrowed a copy of a compilation of AC's early stuff (including various split 7"s, live tracks, and acoustic sets) for my metal show last night. Years before they drowned in their self-parody, they were some of the best grindcore this side of Napalm Death. Even the acoustic stuff is frighteningly good grind.

cool...i could go on and on about how great that album is, but i'll spare you...it wasn't my favorite at first, but after a while all of the brilliant subtleties started surfacing to my attention more...but yea, what a great album...

"Sister" is a superior album. And that is all.

i will by no means argue the sheer genius and brilliance of Sister, and while that can be said of almost any album Sister is compared against, it isn't for Daydream Nation...it took me a while to realize the full genius of that album, all of the amazing bits of texture and subtleties...listening to that album can still make the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and often leave my mouth hanging open, unable to comprehend just HOW THE HELL THEY WERE ABLE TO DO THAT! the different guitar sounds and the guitar interplay just amaze me to no end...
