some percentage of rock

last night i did something pretty cool...for me anyway...i wrote a little program that randomly decides what music i should listen to...first it'll pick a page # & a line # from the alphabetical list that i keep...then i find that cd and give it the number of tracks and it "picks" one...i'm pretty fascinated by this anyway...i was up all fucking night...i ended up revising it some, as there were some issues w/ the random number generator (no, i didn't modify the r.n.g., just the implementation...whatever, it's too boring to list the few minor details involved here...) i also downloaded NESticle, and it does work on my computer...i didn't play much, 'cuz i was sucking at the games i tried to play...

but today practice happened...for the most part...first i called Keith this morning...he was telling me crap about Brad having been up all night and didn't think he'd be able to wake him up, etc...so i called Brad and he was already up...after Brad talked to Keith, i found out he just had "better" things to do than practice...the rest of us practiced at any rate...for the most part it went pretty well...the newer songs are coming together very nicely...the older stuff tends to be a bit rusty, but it's still pretty good...then the jerks i call "bandmates" made me miss The Simpsons to go eat at El Mezcal...Amber and Shawna met us there as well...it was tasty...then i dropped Brad off at his place and now i'm back home...yea...

that program sounds neat
i always have troublekeeping my old stuff in rotation
that would help

yea...i'm always trying to balance it out...but there's still stuff you can't think about...but that aside, the whole concept of randomness (especially when applied to my cd collection) fascinates me to no end...i don't know why exactly...but i'm always thinking about that sort of stuff anyway...and i can't quit it, wondering what will come next...

Couldn't you just walk over to your cd's, close your eyes, and pick something at random?

Dumbass.

[identity profile] ateolf.livejournal.com 2003-03-16 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
i did do that, cocksucker! anyone w/ half a brain would know that that's a terribly inefficient tecnique for randomness...i do KNOW where my cds are...it's impossible to detach myself from that consciousness...you're the stupidest person i've ever met...i hope you die...

the "better" things I had to do were very important to me. Kerry and I got into a huge fight yesterday and today(her first day off in seven days) I decided to spend it with her.

I'm very sorry, and no offense to the rest of the band, but mine and Kerry's relationship is the most important thing in my life.

None of us would ever ask you to choose between us or your girlfriend. I have my babies, who are the most important in my life, and I'd certainly put them before anything band-related.
I also know that if there were any schedule conflict, it can always be planned around. Everyone understands how things can happen.
If I knew next Sunday was bad, I would let everyone know as soon as I knew and hopefully before they made time away from whatever is important to them.
The band shouldn't be top priority, but it should be at least as important as it is for the rest of us.

don't get me wrong. the band is very important to me, it's just that there was very short time between deciding what i needed to do.

thanks for understanding.
