the clock is ticking like the metronome we can't follow...
picked Jacques' Mustang and my Jazzmaster-esque Silvertone up from Consignment on the way to work...they both fully rock w/ no fret buzz...that guitar will be the one i'll use for the show, as my other Silvertone still isn't ready yet (waiting for a new pickup) and the one that i do have is back in standard tuning for the time being...i also swung by and picked up the cable for the Moog even though it's not ready yet, but it's needed for the show and it does work and all...work was really slow and for once i actually did get off just in time to catch The Simpsons (as there was a new episode on tonight for some reason)!!! was able to round everyone up and the band practiced...didn't quite go as well as i had hoped...i had REALLY wanted to run through the entire set as we'd play it twice, but some girl was coming in from out of town and Paul had to leave after running through it only once...(and a few of the songs weren't sounding quite up to par...though mostly they sounded good...) hopefully we'll be able to go through everything tomorrow after Paul gets off work before we play...although even that won't help as much as going through it all twice in a row would have...oh well...while we were practicing, Camy's called...i didn't answer it though...i turned my phone off as this rock could not wait...but then after we were leaving anyway they called Brad and he handed the phone to me...(this was like 10 or 11-something...i can't remember exactly) they needed me to come in early 'cuz there was no cook and they were backed up...something along the lines of Kish telling Cat (the manager) to shut up and if she wasn't such a fucking bitch she could suck it...he was sent home...so it was just Cat and the 2 closing drivers...my first run sucked ass but after that i got some pretty good tips...that first run i went up north to Cabana Circle and another order along the way, each a $1 tip (bastards) and then i had to take a re-make all the fucking way down south past Lamar at the fucking House of Blues stuidio...(which, of course, was nothing, not even commission, as it was a re-make...) then they called back saying THAT steak sandwhich was bad too...i talked to who they said was Janet Jackson's manager or something...complaining about not being able to eat the sandwhich or something...in which case, i really hope it was her and i really hope it was Janet Jackson being pissed off, choking on the fucking sandwhich...it gives me great joy to think about that...or something...i helped close a little bit too...as there was no closing cook and less ppl to do the work...but yea, the show's officially today...i think it should go okay, i just wish we could've practiced more as had been planned...oh...and Keith called me tonight...i had left a message a few days ago informing him of the show...(something like "hey, it's Robert, i don't know if you'll be able to or if you are that you'd even want to go, but your former band is having a show thursday...") he said that he was going to try to make it...he asked if we were doing any new songs and i told him they were mostly new, w/ the exception of "Taken" and "Slow Autumn"...he seemed really interested in hearing the new stuff...hopefully it will be as ball stompin' as i hope it will be...
