turn

i passed my interview or whatever i guess...i'm accepted to be a teacher now...i just have to get my documentation submitted and i'll be in the teaching pool where i guess i'll then have to interview with individual principals...but i've made it through the first gate it seems...

anyway, yesterday Mary Beth and i went to the Brooks an hour before they closed to see a few Tunisian/Roman floor mosaics as well as a bit of the rest of the museum (i hadn't been since i was a kid or whatever...)

today at work i finished reading both The Early Stories 1953-1975 by John Updike and Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse...the Updike was really good...some of the stories were some of the best i've read in a long time...i didn't retain the amazingness completely throughout its immense girth, but the good stories were incredibly good and i don't think any were bad...the Hesse was okay...i didn't like it at all in the beginning...it's very declarative: this is who i am, this is what i'm like, this is what i feel about everything, this is why it represents modern mankind and all the rest...it got better at the end, overall it averages to okay, i think...

they are changing some crap at work i guess where apparently for now we can't log out five minutes early at the end of the last shift...we were, of course, given two minutes notice of this fact tonight...
