adventures...

yesterday i went to some used bookstores i'd never been to, both out east...the first one was a little overpriced (in that standard way) i still managed to not resist a bit much: Oswald's Tale by Norman Mailer, The Marble Faun by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Effi Briest by Theodor Fontane, Collected Novellas by Gabriel García Márquez, Being There by Jerzy Kosinski, Saint Francis by Nikos Kazantzakis, Kaputt by Curzio Malaparte, Burmese Days by George Orwell, and Letters from the Earth by Mark Twain...the other one was in germantown and way overprice (and also much dumpier, which would be no problem if the books were cheap, but no...) i got one book: Crome Yellow by Aldous Huxley...in the evening we went to that delayed german dinner party thingie at Gary and Rachel's...and that's about it...
