the night before last i pretty much finished the theremin! first time plugging it in and it works! no smoke or nothin'! hey, i can follow instructions! the only thing is one of the oscillator coils for volume got broken...the tuning screw inside cracked and now i can't turn it to calibrate it...so if you turn the amp up you can use it and move your hand around the pitch antenna and it fucking works like a theremin! but the volume antenna doesn't do anything for now...so i need to get a replacement oscillator coil...and last night after work i went by radio shack...now, i know over the years they've taken great care in focusing more on the "shack" angle than "radio;" however, should one decide to do something crazy like build a radio i would think some oscillator coils would be pretty fucking essential...my point is radio shack does not carry fucking oscillator coils...fucking bullshit...anyway, i'll backtrack again...so i get carried away finishing the theremin, getting the case all in proper order, and the board and panel mounted, etc...so i lose track of time and by the time i get to bed it's almost 4 fucking am (my bedtime is 1:30)...so i'm looking at 5.5 hours of sleep anyway...pretty lame...but then, around 8 i'm fucking woken up because upstairs someone figures it's an ideal time to buffer the floor, or drill for oil, or run a gigantic machine that grinds the upstairs floor into a fine powder...a very, very, very fucking loud noise...after a while of this bullshit i look outside and there are a couple of dudes sitting on the porch so i went outside and asked them to please wait til 9:30...one guy said to wait a minute and went upstairs...the noise continued...it started up again this morning too a little before 8...but it didn't last long...though throughout the morning there were people talking on the porch (which is right ouside my window and sounds as loud as if they were in my fucking room...) but i managed to sleep through that alright...backtracking again, Justin H. is back in town for a couple days...he came over and hung out for a little bit last night...i guess that's all for now...
